The Centre provides users with a unique combination of hospital infrastructure and testbed capability. Health service and industry groups alike can hire the facility and/or its testbed services for training activities or hosting health-related workshops in a high quality hospital-based environment.

CHI Infrastructure

The Centre has a variety of procedural and administrative settings (photos below):

ICT Test-Bed

Underpinning the Centre’s functionality is a fully-quarantined medical-grade IT network to facilitate the trialling and demonstration of technologies. It is the ideal platform for advanced equipment and software testing, all without risk to patient safety or critical hospital systems.  

 

The Centre incorporates core-networking capabilities alongside:

v      Wireless LANs for secure WiFi RFID, Data, Voice, Guest and PDA access,
v      Internet/remote access, and
v      IP Telephony and Video Conferencing

 

Our blade centre and storage provides a virtualised server farm to host:

v      Active directory,
v      Email (Exchange 2007),
v      SQL,
v      Sharepoint,
v      Citrix,
v      ISA, and
v      Numerous application and Web servers.
